The Contango HR Business Partner will office (in person) out of our Andrews, Texas location, which is generally situated amongst multiple oil & gas plants within its geographical area. This position performs various HR Generalist functions in that recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employee benefits, performance management and respective projects fall within a general workday. Additionally, this position serves as a business partners whos' function is to provide support and guidance to our customers, which are our employees and leaders. aligning our goals for organizational success.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering policies.
  • Builds lasting relationships and collaborative partnerships with the business in order to meet organizational needs
  • Performs recruiting function(s) for organization wide including :requisition process, screening applicants, conducting phone interviews and preparing offer letters
  • Interprets, applies, implements, and advises on a variety of initiatives, such as: talent development, compensation, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, organizational change management, and policy.
  • Translates business strategy into implications for workforce through HR processes.
  • Assists with leave management, general benefits and payroll support.
  • Utilizes strong project management skills and attention to detail.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organization, analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently under deadline pressure
  • Thrives in team environment, however takes direction and completes day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to properly advise on performance management & disciplinary action recommendations
  • Ability to travel around 30% to various Texas locations, with minimal travel outside the state.

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of direct HR experience (5+ years within O&G)
  • Employee Relations, recruiting and onboarding experience 2+ years

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years HR experience (2+ in O&G)
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP a plus
